Artstop ProjectSpaces will transform several highly visible sites among Des Moines' six Artstop districts into places for adventurous artistic works! The public will have the opportunity to view all of the works over two weeks and to vote for their favorites.
September 14-29, 2012.
Artstop ProjectSpaces is about collaboration between venues, artists, and our audience.
Retail stores, offices, galleries, restaurants—any space that is highly visible and accessible to the public, and that is well-suited to displaying a temporary arts project or artwork(s), may participate as a Project Spaces venue.
As an artist, you collaborate with a registered Artstop ProjectSpaces venue to showcase your artwork or arts project during Artstop. Venues and artists may make arrangements independently or connect through our online registration site.
Ultimately, our audience will vote to determine a People’s Choice Award, which is in addition to juried prizes. Everyone takes part in creating meaningful experiences and conversation around art.
No, there is no cost to participate as an artist. There is a $150 registration fee for venues.
A limited amount of funding may be available for projects that require technical assistance or other support. Please continue to check this website for updates.
No, responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged work must be determined between the artist and venue. Artstop is not responsible for work while on view.
No, delivering and shipping work is the responsibility of the artist.

No, we welcome all artists to participate.
You must show your entry at a registered venue in order to be included in Artstop's Project Spaces. If you are interesting in exhibiting at a venue that is not currently registered, please encourage them to sign up by the May 31 deadline.
Yes, the online connection site is intended to make communication easier, but artists are not required to use it to connect with a registered venue.
